MMMM: Mastery, multitasking fallacy, how to be professional and NYD 2024

Things to make you go MMMM on Thursday

"To inspire and encourage electronic artists to Make, Manage and Market Music every day."

Three thoughts for your music and one on mine.

3 for you:

If it was easy everyone would be doing it.

“Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; and if it is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.” - Marcus Aurelius

I call it ‘task switching’ and am guilty of falling for it’s false promise of speedy progression.

“Multitasking is merely the opportunity to screw up more than one thing at a time.” —Steve Uzzell

Leaders create and creatives lead.

“If you’re aspiring to be an Influencer (with a capital I), then yeah, chase all those damn trends. Your “brand” is trend. However, if you want to be a professional musician, you don’t chase, you lead.” - Ari Herstand

1 from me

One for the first entry in next year’s diary.
We started off this year with such a bang on NYD that we just have to do it again. It’s not been a bad year after all down here on the coast.
We have the awesome Evil Tom (Evil Nine) headlining with support from THE G3T deep. SHIFT crew and a bunch of the best Brighton has to offer for a whole day of afters at our favourite Kemptown hangout.

Dawn rises on January 1st, 2024. Some people awake from their slumber, in seek of New Year’s Day celebrations... some still have the music from NYE humming through their skin.

Driven by a thirst for a bloody-good shindig and a desire for good company, laughs, dancing and smiles, they follow the beating pulse emanating from Block.

When they arrive at Block and open the door, what are they greeted by?

It's the G3T deep Shift crew, joined by Evil Tom and 14 local DJ leg-ends! All there for a silly, slamming, stonker of a New Year’s Day/Evening party.

It'll be a bonanza of b2b fun, topped up with extra Turbosound and all served piping hot.

Come, raise a glass and make a toast to the year ahead with us!
