MMMM: Success, purpose, being weird and a weekend of music

Things to make you go MMMM on Thursday

by Darien J

"To inspire and encourage electronic artists to make, manage and market music every day."

Three thoughts on making, managing and marketing your music and one on mine.

3 for you:

Dan Norris, author of Create Or Hate: Successful People Make Things, and his theory on the secret to success:

"The only thing I do know about successful people is that they create things."

Ozan Varol, author of Think Like A Rocket Scientist, with some advice on finding your purpose:

“If you struggle with figuring out what you want, think back to what you loved doing as a child—before the world stuffed you with facts and memos and before the word should dictated how you spend your time. What made you weird or different as a child can make you extraordinary as an adult.”

Seth Godin on being weird:

“The opportunity of our time is to support the weird, to sell to the weird, and, if you wish, to become weird.”

1 from me

The summer is in full swing and I’m very grateful to be in one of the most vibrant cities this country has to offer. The last weekend of the month is always a busy one and this one is no different with two daytime gigs on Saturday and my monthly stream on Sunday. Would be great to see you at some point over the weekend if you’re in Brighton or say hi on the stream if not.

Until next week
