MMMM: Hard work, how to create quality, real things and stream recording

Things to make you go MMMM on Thursday

by Darien J

"To inspire and encourage electronic artists to Make, Manage and Market Music every day."

Three thoughts for your music and one on mine.

3 for you:

Hard work is always involved on the path to self fulfillment.

If there is one unavoidable truth in this world, it’s that there is no substitute for putting in the work. There is no shortcut or growth hack or magic pill that can get you around the hard work of doing your job well, of winning something you care about, or of making your dreams come true. People have tried to cut corners and skip steps in this process for as long as hard work has been hard. Eventually, those people either fall behind or get left in our dust, because working your ass off is the only thing that works 100 percent of the time for 100 percent of the things worth achieving.” - Arnold Schwarzenegger

Quality through quantity.

"It is amateurs who have one big bright beautiful idea that they can never abandon. Professionals know that they have to produce theory after theory before they are likely to hit the jackpot." - Francis Crick

Some things remain the same.

“The real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.” - Laura Ingalls Wilder

1 from me

Last Sunday’s The Social Stream on 29th October 5-9pm was a biggie as we had one of the original streaming crew from back in January this year.

The one and only, first and foremost…

Dj Brunonumerouno

Without doubt, the most charismatic DJ in Brighton with a unique blend of exquisite skills behind the decks, almost unlimited knowledge of deep house music and dance moves like an octopus made of jelly…

on roller skates.

Bruno has been sprinkling his irresistible brand of banter over deep house flavours on Brighton’s airwaves every week since the beginning of the last decade and with his new Tuesday Tune Up Show (10ish ‘til 12ish every Tuesday on 1BTN) he is now helping our weekend recovery no end.

If you’re a house music event promoter in Brighton and you haven’t had Bruno on your line up you’re doing it wrong.

I am inspired every time I hear him play and am incredibly grateful to have his influence in my life.
